Microsoft has spread its September Game Pass additions across the month rather than dropping them all at once, and the first wave leans on a familiar name: Call of Duty. Here is what is arriving, what is leaving, and what is coming later.
Wave one, September 1-15
- Speedrunners 2: King of Speed (September 3) on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC for Ultimate and PC Game Pass
- Dice a Million (September 4), which also expands to the Premium tier after previously being limited to Ultimate and PC Game Pass
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (September 8) on Cloud, console and PC for Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass
- The Royal Writ (September 10)
- Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage (September 10)
- RuneScape: Dragonwilds (September 15), the survival game's console debut
Notably, RuneScape: Dragonwilds is launching the same day into PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, so both subscription services get it on day one.
Leaving in early September
Eleven games have been flagged as "leaving soon" in the Xbox app for early September. The two biggest names are Cyberpunk 2077 and Frostpunk 2, so anyone mid-playthrough should either finish up or use the member discount to buy before they go.
Further out
Xbox quietly confirmed Hela: of Mice & Magic, a co-op adventure, as a day-one Game Pass title for Q4 2026. The Perks program is also continuing through September with freebies for Rainbow Six Siege, Disney Speedstorm and Aniimo, among others.
With the Premium tier now getting more of the catalog and Ultimate keeping day-one exclusives, September is a reasonable month to check which tier actually matches how you play.
